they're always there
waiting to show us
how much we care
they don't always surface
when the change is clear
sometimes they run
when the change gets near

holding us and molding us
like rag dolls and clay
creating stories
from memories and dreams
showing our hearts
what feeling can mean

helping us grow
by exposing our soul

make diamonds from coal

conflicting thoughts
that multiply
complications
twists and turns
expectations
cuts and burns

confused decisions

but friendship can weather

to be more awake
