The rabbits
were in the fields
eating clover
then they look over
their shoulders'
and see
the trucks
loading up Dirt
from the burrows
of their
Fathers
when will
we decide
it's too much
Dirt
to displace
from this
sacred place
so they eat their
tasty morsels
of polluted grass
and round up
the survivors
for the
funeral mass
FUNERAL
Thought I knew you
but I'm sure
you don't know me
anymore
see you walking to
the record store
on a Saturday morning
when you told me you were at
a Funeral
I don't know why
you came to my life
but I think it may be something
important
so I think I might
just sit and drink my coffee
and think about the thinks we said
in the middle of the night
when I was half asleep
and we were talking
about the future of our life
and you think I don't remember
I saw you walk into
the corner store
on the 13th of
fucking December
that was the day
you told me
you were at
a Funeral
and you couldn't come
to my house
but I don't blame you
if you can't keep a
fucking promise
not everybody
knows how
so I think I might just
bring some flowers
to a random grave
and pretend it's the death
of our relationship
that we gave
110 percent to
the other day
those are gonna
die too
just like
me and you
everything is gonna
die too
just like
me and you
but something will come
from the ashes
like the Phoenix
rising up and above
nothing can take away
the love
that was in
our lives
