MEANINGLESS

Don't you know
you're there
everybody
can see you
doesn't seem fair
not everybody
can be you
so you walk
fast to the track
that you found
on your way back
carrying your
heavy pack
far away
far away
far away
and the people gather around
to see what they can find
in your mind
it's not much more
than a few grains of sand
but if you look real hard
you might find some
idle hands
digging in the dirt
isn't that where you find
the Meaningless things
in your mind
isn't that where you find
the Meaningless things
in your mind
the Meaningless things
in your mind
the Meaningless things
in your mind

SHATTER

Rocks sometimes fall
from mountains tall
glass sometimes Shatter
but what does it matter
we can't always choose
our spot on life's ladder
the rich get richer
the wallets get fatter
but we all Shatter
when rock meets bone
so what does it matter
if you have a big throne

TORN

Rips and tears
lions and bears
metaphors haunt us
like truth haunts a dare
Torn paper dreams
hemmed at dead seams
forced incubation
fed by dead streams
