GOLD

I've learned so much
in the time I've grown
in minds, hearts, and lands
many seeds I've sewn
though part of my life
is written in stone
the best part flows
like a stream to its home
though my past often haunts me
and my now moves too fast
my future forgives me
for things that don't last
in life we find treasures
rare gems, truth be told
but often we trade them
for shiny fool's gold
